2006
A Company Was Created
The company Global Precision Solutions was born, formed by two founding partners, it had only one lathe, one conventional milling machine, and one flat grinding machine, all second-hand equipment. The new venture was created by a precision mechanic and the founding partner Esteban Fallas who carried out the marketing tasks, knocking on doors to open up the market and make the company known.
2011
Smartool Born
The co-partner Esteban Fallas acquires 100% of the company's assets and decides to change the name to Smartool S.A.At that time, the company already had, besides the initial equipment, a WEDM (wire electrical discharge machine), a CNC milling machine made by Milltronics, an additional grinding machine, and the staff added six people.
2011 - 2017
First Growth
Between 2011 - 2017 the company acquired an additional CNC milling machine, a conventional lathe, a conventional EDM, heat treatment furnaces, and an additional WEDM, which allowed it to grow in personnel and sales by approximately 60%.
2018
Key Moves and Second Growth
Smartool manufactured all the necessary tooling used to produce heart valves for a medical device company.
The first heart valve exported from Costa Rica was manufactured with Smartool brand products.2018 - 2020
Company Consolidation
We made a large investment in equipment and infrastructure to consolidate Smattool as one of the most qualified and reliable machining companies in Costa Rica.We bought a third WEDM, an additional CNC milling machine, a CNC lathe, a CNC machining center, a 5-axis CNC lathe, and metrology laboratory equipment. Also, the ISO 9001-2015 re-certification was obtained in 2020.
2023
TICOTOOLING foundation
Due to the large number of projects being exported to the United States, it was decided to start operations there to improve client support and delivery times.
